What’s inside

One SKILL.md (the playbook) + one starter template. A preview:

Email Marketing OG Image

When to use

  • You are publishing or relaunching an email marketing tool, template gallery, or newsletter platform and the link preview currently shows a blank page or a cropped logo
  • A blog post, landing page, or pricing page about email campaigns gets shared on social feeds and the preview looks generic next to competitors
  • Your newsletter signup page needs a preview image that says what the product does in one glance — send, automate, measure — without cramming in a feature list
  • You are running a launch or a seasonal campaign and want one consistent preview image across the homepage, blog, and docs
  • An existing OG image is blurry, has tiny text that disappears at thumbnail size, or uses colors that clash with the brand

Workflow

  1. Lock the one message (input: page purpose + audience → output: single headline of ≤6 words)
Read the page and pick the single thing a stranger should understand from the preview: what the product does and for whom. Write it in six words or fewer — "Emails that get opened." beats "A powerful all-in-one email marketing automation platform for growing businesses." If you cannot cut it to six words, the page itself is trying to say too much, and the image will too.
  2. Pick the visual anchor (input: headline → output: one hero visual concept)
Choose exactly one anchor: a stylized inbox mockup with a single highlighted email, a simple automation flow of three connected nodes, or a bold typographic lockup with one accent shape. One anchor, generous negative space around it. Two anchors fight each other at thumbnail size and the preview reads as noise.
  3. Set the layout grid (input: headline + anchor → output: 1200×630 composition plan)
Lay out on a 1200×630 canvas with a safe zone: keep headline, logo, and the anchor's key detail inside the central ~1000×500 area so nothing gets cropped by feed overlays. Put the headline large on the left or top, the anchor visual on the opposite side, and the brand mark small in one corner. Left-aligned headline, right-side visual is the reliable default; center-stacked works only when the headline is three words or fewer.
  4. Apply the palette and type (input: composition plan + brand colors → output: finished visual spec)
Use at most three colors: background, ink, and one accent. Keep contrast high — dark ink on a light background or light type on a deep background — and set the headline in one bold weight at a size that stays legible when the image is shown at 240 pixels wide. No gradients behind text, no stock-photo backgrounds, no more than one typeface family.
