Blockchain OG Image
A preview that reads like infrastructure
Builds a bold 1200×630 social preview image for a blockchain or crypto project — one clear name, one promise, and chain-themed visuals that don't look like every other token launch.

One SKILL.md (the playbook) + one starter template. A preview:
Blockchain OG Image
When to use
- You're launching a blockchain project, protocol, wallet, or dApp and every shared link shows a blank preview
- Your current OG image is a busy network diagram with a logo nobody can read at thumbnail size
- You need preview art for a token launch, docs site, testnet announcement, or hackathon page
- Your project's links get shared in chat apps and timelines where the preview is the first impression
- You're rebranding a chain or tool and the old preview still shows the old name
Workflow
- Lock the message (input: project name + one-line promise → output: headline + subhead)
An OG image gets about one second at thumbnail size. Pick a headline of 2–6 words — the project name plus what it does ("Aurora Chain — fast, cheap settlement") — and one subhead under 10 words. Crypto previews fail most often by saying too much: skip the tokenomics, the roadmap, and the partner logos. One promise. If the promise needs a paragraph, the message isn't ready; the image can't fix it. - Choose the visual metaphor (input: headline → output: one visual idea)
Pick ONE visual idea and commit: a block-chain motif (connected blocks receding into depth), a network constellation (nodes and edges on a dark field), a single oversized token/coin mark, or an abstract wave of the brand's colors. One idea, large and simple — the preview is 240px wide in most timelines, and a second idea becomes noise. Avoid cliché overload: no rockets, no moons, no laser eyes, no "to the moon" energy. The goal is credible infrastructure, not meme coin. - Compose for the crop (input: visual idea → output: layout)
Build at 1200×630 with all critical text inside the center 90% — platforms crop the edges. Two layouts work best: left-aligned text with the visual motif on the right, or centered text over a dark field with the motif behind at low opacity. The project name or wordmark goes large (90–110px, bold); the subhead sits below at 40px+. If you use a token symbol or logo, place it once, large, not tiled. Leave real breathing room around the text — a cramped preview reads as untrustworthy. - Style for legibility (input: layout → output: styled image)
High contrast is non-negotiable: light text on a deep dark background, or dark text on a light one — never mid-tone on mid-tone. Use at most two typefaces and two accent colors plus neutrals. The motif stays subtle behind the text (dimmed, blurred, or low-opacity) so the words win. Test the export at 240px wide: if the project name isn't readable, the image failed regardless of how good it looks at full size.
