What’s inside

Crypto Dust Hunter

When to use

  • You have old wallets and suspect there's something in them: a 2021 airdrop you never claimed, staking rewards you never harvested, dust from old trades
  • A treasury or company wallet shows funds you can't explain — find out what they are and whether they're recoverable
  • You used a chain two years ago and want to know if anything accrued: LP positions, vesting contracts, unclaimed rewards
  • Before consolidating wallets, sweep for anything worth more than the gas to move it
  • You received tokens you don't recognize and need to figure out if they're real or a dusting scam

Workflow

  1. Inventory (input: what you remember → output: wallet inventory)
List every wallet and exchange account you control or once controlled: addresses, which chain, what you were doing there, and roughly when. Include the ones you're not sure about — "an old MetaMask from 2021, maybe had some DeFi stuff." Mark which ones you still have keys for and which are watch-only. No keys leave your hands; the inventory is addresses and memories, not seed phrases.
  2. Scan (input: inventory → output: found funds)
For each address, check: native balance, token balances (including the ones the wallet UI hides), unclaimed airdrops (check the project's claim pages for that wallet's eligibility), unharvested staking/LP rewards, vesting contracts with releasable amounts, and NFTs with any floor value. Record chain, token, amount, approximate USD value, and how you found it. Unknown tokens get a scam check before anything else (see notes).
  3. Claim path (input: found funds → output: claim steps)
For each find worth recovering: the exact steps to claim or move it (which dApp, which function, what to sign), the gas cost estimate, and the net value after gas. If gas exceeds the value, it stays — mark it "leave" with the reason. If a claim needs a deprecated frontend or a contract interaction, spell out the safe way (verified contract address, what the transaction does).
  4. Report (input: everything → output: recovery report)
The report: found (token, chain, value, where), claimed (what you recovered, tx hashes), left behind (what and why — gas too high, scam token, can't access), and watch items (vesting that unlocks later, airdrops with future claim windows). Total recovered vs total found. Keep the report — it's the map for next time.
