Turn meeting notes into a prioritized daily action list
An author uses Claude Code as a personal assistant that processes meeting notes into an end-of-day action list, later adding daily priorities, note synthesis and budget tracking.
- What They Did
- Ron Forbes, a PM, points Claude Code at an Obsidian folder with meetings/raw, summaries and tasks folders. He dumps unorganized notes into raw during the day. At day's end he tells Claude to write summaries, pull every action item into tasks/active.md, and group them HIGH/MEDIUM/LOW with owners and deadlines. He later added morning/evening commands, note synthesis and budget tracking.
- How It Went
- He reports saving 30-45 minutes a day, or 10-12 hours a month on meeting processing, and 2,000+ organized notes after 30 days. The figures are his own estimates.
- Worth Knowing
- Claude Code needs a Claude Pro subscription ($20/month or higher). Give Claude an explicit priority framework in the prompt, and build one workflow at a time.
Try it yourself with Claude Code
Set up a personal assistant in the folder [path to your meeting notes folder]. Each day, read the new meeting notes there and write an end-of-day action list to [file name], with each item showing the owner, the due date if one was mentioned, and a priority of high, medium or low. Finish by showing me the list, and don't edit or delete any of my original notes.
Do this with a skill.
