Sequential List Reveal
One list item at a time, each landing before the next
Turns your AI into a motion-graphics director for the sequential-list-reveal pattern — brings a text list onto screen one item at a time with a clean wipe and a reading beat, so each point lands before the next one arrives.

Sequential List Reveal
When to use
- A video lists steps, rules, or takeaways and wants each one to land individually instead of flashing a wall of text
- A tutorial reveals a checklist item by item as the voiceover explains it
- A pitch counts off reasons, and the count itself is part of the rhetoric
- A recap lists what changed, one line per change, so viewers can nod along
- Any moment where showing all the text at once would let the viewer skip ahead of the voiceover
Workflow
- Write the list (input: raw points → output: 3–6 tight items)
Write 3–6 items, each one line, ≤10 words, one idea per line. Start each item with a verb or a number ("Do X", "1. X") — noun-phrase items ("Better performance", "More options") blur together because they have no action. Cut ruthlessly: a 9-item list revealed one by one takes ~15 seconds and loses the room. If you have more than 6 points, split into two lists with a verbal bridge ("and three more on the other side of this"). Order matters: put the strongest item first or last, never buried in the middle. - Set the list frame (input: items → output: list layout)
Stack items vertically, left-aligned, with generous line spacing (1.6–1.8× line height). Numbers or small markers (01, 02, 03 — or a simple bullet) sit in a fixed left column so the text column stays perfectly aligned. Keep the full list's footprint visible from the start as faint placeholder space (rows at 8–10% opacity or empty slots) so the list does not reflow or jump as items arrive — the frame must not move. Font size: the longest item must fit on one line at the chosen size; if it wraps, shorten the item, not the font. - Reveal item by item (input: list frame → output: reveal animation)
Reveal each item over 0.45–0.6s with a left-to-right mask wipe (the text is uncovered as if a curtain pulls away) plus a fade from 0 to 100% inside the wipe, ease-out. Stagger: each item starts 0.35–0.5s after the previous one starts, so reveals overlap slightly and the rhythm feels continuous rather than stop-start. The marker/number for each item pops in 0.1s before its text, giving the eye a landing spot. The first item gets an extra 0.2s of stillness before it starts — the audience needs a beat to find the list. - Give each item a reading beat (input: revealed items → output: paced sequence)
After each item finishes revealing, hold 0.4–0.7s before the next item starts (included in the stagger above — the stagger is reveal + beat combined). The voiceover should speak the item during its hold, not during its wipe: text in motion is unreadable, so the voice and the wipe must not compete. If an item is the punchline or the key takeaway, double its hold (0.8–1.2s) and let it sit alone before the next item arrives.

Sequential List Reveal — Template
One list, one item at a time, voice and text arriving together.
The list (3–6 items, ≤10 words each, one idea per line)
Strongest item position: {first / last} — Cut or split: {items cut / split into second list: ...} Markers: {numbered 01–06 (order matters) / bullets (unordered)}
Frame
Alignment: left-aligned stack, line spacing {1.6–1.8}× Placeholder rows: faint slots at 8–10% opacity so the frame never reflows Background: {solid panel / dimmed panel — never busy video} Longest item fits one line? [ ] (shorten item if not)
