Amber Scrapbook Suite
When to use
- You run a scrapbook or memory-keeping brand — kits, papers, tools, workshops — and your site is a single shop page with no story
- You need a small suite of pages (home, shop/collections, inspiration, workshops, about) that feel like one brand, not five disconnected pages
- Your products are tactile and visual — paper textures, layered pages, hand-finished details — and your site currently makes them look flat
- You want visitors to see what they can make, not just what they can buy, because inspiration is what sells this category
- You are launching a new collection or kit and need the whole suite to carry it consistently, from homepage banner to product pages
Workflow
- Map the suite (input: brand offer → output: page map)
Decide the pages before writing a word: Home, Collections/Shop, Inspiration (gallery of finished pages), Workshops/Classes, About, plus product pages. Each page gets one job: Home orients, Collections sells, Inspiration shows what is possible, Workshops books seats, About builds trust. If a page cannot state its job in one sentence, cut it — a five-page suite that is tight beats an eight-page suite with three pages nobody visits. - Set the amber system (input: brand identity → output: palette + type rules)
Define the warm amber palette concretely: a deep amber for headings and actions, a soft cream for backgrounds, a mid-amber for accents, and a dark warm brown for body text. Pick two typefaces — one warm display face for headings, one highly readable face for body — and set the rules once (heading sizes, line lengths, button styles) so every page matches. The palette should feel like paper and afternoon light, not like a warning sign: amber used everywhere at full saturation shouts; amber used with restraint glows. - Design the collage language (input: palette + product photos → output: layout rules)
Scrapbook collage on the web means layered, slightly rotated cards, torn or deckled edges, tape-and-sticker details, and overlapping photos — but every effect must serve readability. Set rules: rotations stay small (1–3 degrees), overlapping elements never cover text, and every collage block has a clean anchor (a straight edge or a clear heading) so the eye knows where to land. Use the brand's own photos of real finished pages; collage made from generic stock looks like a mood board, not a brand.
