Analyze spending and accounts via ChatGPT Finance

A user linked checking, card and brokerage accounts to ChatGPT's Finance tools and asked for breakdowns of spending categories, merchants, balances, APR and due dates.

What They Did
The user used ChatGPT’s finance account-linking flow, connected a Robinhood card, AmEx card, Wells Fargo checking, and brokerage accounts, then waited for recent transactions to sync. They asked plain-English questions comparing accounts and cards, and ChatGPT returned category and merchant breakdowns plus transaction counts, average ticket size, balances, APR, due dates, payments, and credits where available.
How It Went
It was useful for card-by-card analysis and plain-English reviews, but only had about 30 days of history at first and would not invent longer trends. The user worked around that by scheduling snapshot reports twice a month to preserve summaries for future comparisons.
Worth Knowing
The main catch was limited initial history, so they set tasks for the 15th and last day of each month to build their own comparison baseline over time.
Try it yourself with ChatGPT

Using my linked accounts, give me a breakdown of my spending over the last [time period] by category and top merchants. Then list my current balances, the APR on each card, and upcoming due dates. Finish with three specific suggestions for reducing costs or avoiding interest, and flag anything that looks unusual.
