Starlit Deck

One story, one sky, one idea per slide.

Turns your AI into a presentation designer — builds a slide deck on a night-sky visual system of deep navy, scattered stars, and constellation lines, where every slide keeps one idea, one visual gesture, and type that reads from the back of the room.

What’s inside

One SKILL.md (the playbook) + one starter template. A preview:

Starlit Deck

When to use

  • You need a presentation deck — a pitch, a keynote, a project update, a talk — and the default template makes every slide look like a status report
  • Your story has a sense of wonder, exploration, or quiet ambition in it — a launch, a vision, a research reveal — and the visuals should carry that feeling without turning into clip art
  • A deck has grown into walls of bullet points and the audience stopped reading after slide three
  • You want one visual system that holds across a whole deck: same sky, same stars, same rules, so every slide feels like part of one night rather than ten different decks stapled together
  • You are presenting in a dark room or on a screen and want slides that glow gently instead of blasting white light at the audience

Workflow

  1. Find the one-sentence story (input: your material → output: a one-sentence story + slide spine)
    Write the deck's story in one sentence — "We found a gap in the market, built the thing that fills it, and here's the proof" — then break it into a spine of 8–14 slides, one idea per slide: a night-sky opening, the problem, the insight, the solution, the evidence, the plan, the ask. If a slide needs two ideas, it is two slides. Cut anything that does not serve the one sentence; a starlit deck is defined as much by the slides you remove as by the ones you keep. Every slide gets a one-line job description before any design happens.
  2. Set the night-sky system (input: slide spine → output: the visual system)
    Fix the system once and never improvise per slide: a deep navy field (near-black blue, not pure black), scattered stars in two sizes and two brightnesses, one thin constellation-line style for connecting ideas, one moon or horizon-glow accent used sparingly (title slide and section breaks only), and one silver-white for type. Stars sit in the margins and quiet corners — never behind body text, never competing with the headline. Constellation lines connect ideas on diagrams only; they never decorate a text slide. Write the system down as a short spec (field color, star sizes, line weight, type sizes) so every slide is built from the same sky.

Starlit Deck — Story + System Template

One deck = one story, one sky. Fill in the story and the system before building any slide.

The story

One-sentence story: {e.g. We found a gap in the market, built the thing that fills it, and here's the proof}

Audience: {who is in the room} | The ask: {what they should do after the last slide}

Slide spine (one idea per slide)

Night-sky system (fixed once, never improvised per slide)

Field: deep navy {hex} (near-black blue, never pure black)

Stars: two sizes {sizes} × two brightnesses {values} — margins and quiet corners only, never behind body text
