When to use

  • You are launching an AI agent product — a helper that books, drafts, triages, or automates real work — and need a 60–90 second video for the homepage, launch page, or announcement post
  • Your current demo is a silent screen recording with no story, and viewers drop off before they see what the agent does for them
  • You need a video that works with the sound off (autoplay feeds) and with the sound on (launch page), without producing two separate videos
  • A founder, marketer, or small team needs a shootable brief: script, shot list, captions, and music direction, not a vague "make it cinematic" prompt
  • You are cutting a teaser (15–30 seconds) and a full launch cut (60–90 seconds) from the same material and need both to share one story spine

Workflow

  1. Find the one job (input: product description + target user → output: one-sentence job statement)
Name the single job the agent does for one specific person: "A freelance designer hands her inbox triage to an agent and gets her mornings back." Not "an AI agent for productivity." If the video tries to show five use cases, viewers remember none of them. One job, one person, one before-and-after.
  2. Build the story arc (input: job statement → output: 4-beat arc with timestamps)
Structure the 60–90 seconds in four beats: Pain (0–10s — the tedious task, shown not told), Introduction (10–25s — the agent appears, one line of what it is), Proof (25–60s — the agent doing the job, with visible results), Payoff (60–90s — the human's life after, plus name + call to action). Write each beat as one sentence before any dialogue. If the arc doesn't work as four sentences, it won't work as a video.
  3. Write the script (input: arc → output: full voiceover + on-screen text)
Write voiceover at roughly 150 words per minute — 90 seconds means ~225 words maximum, and shorter is safer. Every line must either advance the story or name a visible result; cut anything that only describes the technology. Write the on-screen text track in parallel: bold captions that carry the story with sound off, each caption ≤8 words, timed to its shot. The captions are not subtitles of the voiceover — they are the story for silent viewers.
  4. Storyboard the shots (input: script → output: shot-by-shot board, 8–14 shots)
Break the script into 8–14 shots. For each shot specify: what the viewer sees (screen capture, live action, animation, or kinetic type), the exact on-screen text, the voiceover line, and the duration in seconds. Prefer showing the agent's output — the drafted reply, the booked calendar, the cleared inbox — over showing the agent's interface. People buy outcomes, not dashboards. Flag any shot that needs assets you don't have (footage, screen recordings, a voice actor) so production can start gathering them early.
  5. Write the production brief (input: storyboard → output: shootable brief + cut list)
Assemble the brief: aspect ratios (16:9 for the page, 9:16 vertical cut for feeds, 1:1 optional), music direction (tempo, mood, two reference descriptors — not copyrighted tracks to copy), caption style (font, size, placement, safe zones), end card (product name, one-line promise, URL, QR optional), and the cut list for the 15–30 second teaser (which beats survive: Pain + one Proof shot + Payoff). End with a review checklist: does the first 3 seconds hook, is the product name said and shown, can a muted viewer retell the story?
